As I read it, I was struck by how often most businesses take advantage of the first tip—Have a great plan—then, leave the rest to chance or don’t plan well enough to incorporate the other practices into their regular management routines. At the SBDC, our most successful clients engage in most or all of Smith’s tips through an on-going relationship with their center advisor, before during and well after the start of their business.
